Giving Back Through Giving Blood

James 2:15-16
If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

We recently entered into a partnership with the Red Cross to hold blood drives on a regular basis. Here’s why:

1.  Blood Drives Save Lives - Every time we hold a blood drive we save lives. It’s that simple.

According to the Red Cross, the one pint of blood you donate can save up to 3 lives!

You’re not just serving and hoping it helps. Every time you give you literally make a direct impact on someone’s life. Watch this short video to see just one of the families who have been helped by people just like you!

2.  The Need is Constant - The World Health Organization says, “there is a constant need for regular blood supply because blood can be stored for only a limited time before use. Regular blood donations by a sufficient number of healthy people is needed to ensure that safe blood will be available whenever and wherever it is needed.”

How can a church look past such an obvious need? This is a great way we can serve others in the name of Christ.

3.  Giving Builds Community - This is a fantastic opportunity to serve others with our community. Partnering with friends, family, co-workers, and other organizations helps build relationships that lead to conversations about God.

Try bringing a friend sometime and see how giving blood side by side will always be a bond you share!

As we continue to hold drives, seek out opportunities to help. Invite others, spread the word, bake cookies for donors, or donate. Be a part of our giving community.
